There are also minerals and other ingredients in supplemental hair vitamins that are good for hair growth. These vitamins may include larger dosages than the daily-recommended dosage for most people. If you are a woman and pregnant, just be sure they are safe to take while pregnant. Most pregnant women do take vitamins to help get the proper nutrition, but they are specifically prenatal vitamins that limit Vitamin A to safe dosages. Otherwise, you do want to take an abundance of these vitamins until you see some improvement in your hair loss. It would be very difficult to get a high dosage of these vitamins just through diet alone, and supplementation is necessary, in this case.
Can These Vitamins Be Used Topically?
Yes! You can get hair care products that include hair vitamins to help your hair grow. They are said to get to the roots and to be absorbed there where they can do the most good. However, if your shampoo is using petroleum-based products, the additional vitamins may not be sufficient to counteract those effects.
